AP Physics C- Mechanics

Kinematics- The course begins with a detailed study of motion. Students will analyze one-dimensional and two-dimensional motion, utilizing calculus to describe displacement, velocity, and acceleration. Newton's Laws of Motion- Students will explore Newton's three laws of motion and their applications. This includes understanding how forces influence the motion of objects, solving problems involving friction, tension, and other forces.

Work, Energy, and Power- The course covers the work-energy theorem, kinetic and potential energy, and power. Students will apply calculus to analyze energy conservation, work done by forces, and the interplay between energy forms.

Momentum and Collisions- This section examines the principles of momentum, impulse, and conservation of momentum. Students will solve problems involving elastic and inelastic collisions and apply these concepts to real-world scenarios.

By the end of AP Physics C- Mechanics, students will have a thorough understanding of classical mechanics, grounded in calculus-based principles. They will be well-prepared for university-level physics courses and other STEM disciplines. Success in this course can lead to college credit and advanced placement in physics and engineering programs, providing a strong foundation for future academic and professional pursuits.
