Microsoft Teams is an online platform used for classes, meetings, assignments, chats, and study materials. This guide will help you understand how to use it effectively.

⚠️ Note: In some cases, login steps and app interfaces may look slightly different between Windows and Mac accounts.

1. What You Need Before Starting 🛠️

  • A device: Laptop / Desktop / Tablet / Mobile phone
  • Internet connection: Wi-Fi or mobile data
  • Login Credentials: Your Teams ID and password (from school/institute)

2. How to Install Microsoft Teams 📥

Option A: Mobile

1. Open Google Play Store or App Store.

2. Search for Microsoft Teams.

3. Tap Install and open.

Option B: Laptop

1. Go to: microsoft.com/teams

2. Click Download Teams.

3. Install and sign in.

3. How to Sign In 🔑

  1. Open Microsoft Teams.
  2. Enter your email ID (provided by school).
  3. Enter your password.
  4. Click Sign In.
✅ After login, you will see your Teams dashboard!

4. Understanding the Dashboard 🖥️

Look at the left sidebar for these sections:

  • Teams: Your classes and groups.
  • Chat: Messages with teachers/classmates.
  • Calendar: Your class schedule.
  • Assignments: Homework and tasks.
  • Files: Study materials.

5. How to Join a Class (Team) 👥

If Already Added: Click Teams → Select class name.

If You Have a Code: Click Teams → Join or create a team → Enter code → Click Join.

6. How to Attend an Online Class 📞

  1. Go to Calendar.
  2. Find your class and click Join.
  3. Keep Camera ON/OFF as asked.
  4. Keep Microphone MUTE unless speaking.

🎧 Tip: Use headphones for better audio.

7. Class Rules (Important!) ⚠️

✔ Join class on time
✔ Keep mic muted
✔ Use Chat for doubts
❌ Do not spam chat
❌ Do not leave without permission

9. View & Submit Assignments 📝

To View: Click Assignments → Select Subject.

To Submit: Open Assignment → Click Add work → Upload file → Click Turn In.

✅ Status will change to "Turned In" once finished!

11. Check Recorded Classes 🎥

Missed a class? Go to your Team → Posts → Look for Meeting Recording → Click Play. This helps in revision!

  • Audio/Video not working: Check permissions in settings or rejoin.
  • Unable to join: Check internet connection or refresh app.
